UAE minister goes to Florida, talks investment in tourism, healthcare

Florida exported over $1 billion of goods to the UAE in 2021, making it one of the top 10 states exporting to the Gulf country

Emirati minister of state for foreign trade Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi has concluded a state visit to Florida, which included talks on expanding the UAE-US trade and commercial relationship.

The two-day visit follows a recent economic development missions by south Florida officials to the UAE, state news agency Wam has reported.

Al Zeyoudi met with several local officials in the US state, where discussions focused on opportunities in tourism, city planning, and healthcare.

“Florida is the commercial gateway to the Americas and the UAE sits at the crossroads of global trade and commerce. It makes perfect sense that the Emirates is developing close ties with this economically vibrant region,” he said.

The minister also attended business development and networking events hosted by the US-UAE Business Council, the International Trade Consortium, Enterprise Florida, and eMerge Americas.

According to data, Florida exported over $1 billion of goods to the UAE in 2021, making it one of the top 10 states exporting to the Gulf country. The UAE exported over $180 million of goods to Florida in the same year.
