Stefan Weber is Vice President in AstraZeneca, leading the Global Policy, Advocacy and Health Equity team, whose mission is to advance equitable health outcomes globally in close partnership with Governments, patients and stakeholders across the healthcare sector. Stefan and the team lead enterprise-wide programmes that advance equitable access to screening, early detection and treatment across AstraZeneca’s therapy areas, as well as initiatives that strengthen health system resilience and sustainability in both lower- and higher income markets.


Before joining AstraZeneca in 2020, Stefan spent his previous 15 years with Roche, Novartis and Amgen – where he held roles in marketing, market access, pricing, and various roles of increasing responsibility in public policy. Stefan lived and worked across a variety of markets, starting his career in Argentina and Brazil (covering Latin America), then moving to roles which covered Asia, the Middle-East and parts of Africa, later focussing on Europe and for the majority of the last eight years has held roles with a global scope.
Stefan’s academic background is in business administration and economics (Lic.oec.HSG, St. Gallen, 2005) and in global health policy (MSc, LSHTM London, 2016).


He currently lives in Switzerland with his wife and their two daughters. Besides his family and mission in healthcare, Stefan is passionate about disruptive technologies, sports, travel and the perfect BBQ."
