Dan Beety is senior director for global obesity policy and public affairs at Novo Nordisk and is based in Copenhagen. He joined the firm in January 2020, bringing with him 20 years of experience and a deep knowledge of health systems, politics, life sciences and the voluntary sector. He has built and led teams to deliver on corporate and industrial strategy agendas and support patient access to medicines and services in cardiovascular disease, oncology, retinopathy, sexual and reproductive health, and obesity. Previously he held leadership roles in Britain, as public affairs and communications director at Novo Nordisk, head of external affairs for AstraZeneca and head of healthcare public and government affairs at Bayer. Earlier he was the head of external affairs at Sue Ryder, a third-sector health and social-care service provider in Britain that delivers hospice and neurological care. Mr Beety is a member of the Society of Leadership Fellows, established by St George’s House and located on the grounds of Windsor Castle.
