Dr. Ola Brown is the General Partner at HealthCap Africa, an investment firm specializing in early-stage investments within the healthtech and fintech sectors, along with infrastructure investments. HealthCap has made significant strides, backing almost 20 startups in fintech and healthtech, collectively valued at approximately $700 million, and creating nearly 1000 direct jobs, supporting approximately 12,000 indirect employment opportunities, achieving gender diversity with 56.7% representation of women and 49.5% of women in management positions.


Dr. Ola co-founded and managed funds at Greentree Investment Company, which delivered an impressive IRR of 25%, a TVPI of 7x, and a DPI of 5.01x, marked by a successful exit Paystack among six investments executed. GreenTree was the first institutional investor in Paystack and played a significant role in its success.
Her educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in medicine, a master's degree in finance and Economic Policy (major), she is currently in the process of completing her Ph.D. in Finance, with a research emphasis on digital currencies, financial inclusion, and monetary policy.


Dr. Ola Brown is a published author with five books to her credit, among her notable works is "Economics, Banking, and Finance in Emerging Markets," where she delves into the unique challenges faced by emerging economies. Another noteworthy publication authored by her is "Journey to Series A," which provides valuable insights to financing for technology companies.


Her entrepreneurial journey includes founding "Flying Doctors Nigeria," a tech-enabled urgent care services marketplace that has made an impact across 45 of 54 African countries, responding to over 15,000 emergency requests and demonstrating her unwavering commitment to addressing critical healthcare needs.
