As Chief Regulatory Officer and Head of Global Regulatory Affairs, Eddie plays a pivotal role in overseeing and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks globally and in more than 80 countries where Sanofi operates.

Eddie’s global regulatory affairs department plays a critical role in bringing science to the forefront. By ensuring that all regulatory submissions are rooted in robust scientific evidence, Eddie's department is aligning Sanofi's innovation with health standards globally. This approach not only accelerates the availability of groundbreaking therapies but also ensures their safety and efficacy to improve people’s lives.

In addition to his extensive experience in regulatory affairs, Eddie is integrating digital tools and artificial intelligence (AI) into Sanofi's regulatory processes. By incorporating AI, Eddie and his department are working on harnessing data in regulatory submissions, enhancing efficiency and accuracy to create “fit for future” regulatory teams and professionals.

A qualified pharmacist with a postgraduate degree in Pharmaceutical Medicine, Eddie's career began in hospital and retail pharmacy. He also served as a pharmaceutical assessor with the Irish Medicines Board (now the HPRA) in Dublin, Ireland, before transitioning to the pharmaceutical industry.

With over 20 years of experience, predominantly in regulatory affairs, Eddie has held global positions at both Novartis Vaccines and GSK Biologics prior to joining Sanofi. Since January 2020, he has been based in Paris, driving innovation and regulatory excellence in regulatory affairs at Sanofi.
