Mohammad is the Regional Vice President for AbbVie Middle East, Africa and Russia (MEAR). He leads commercial operations and is responsible for overseeing AbbVie’s commercial execution of global strategies across MEAR.
Mohammad is a pharmacist with 24 years of diversified experience in pharmaceutical business (management, marketing, sales, medicine) in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and United States. He worked in more than 6 multinational companies starting from BMS Egypt in 2000 following with Schering-Plough, Takeda and AbbVie in Saudi Arabia. In 2019, Mohammad moved to Dubai, UAE, where he was named General Manager of GCC countries (Shire). In 2020, he re-joined AbbVie as General Manager GULF.
Prior to his appointment as Regional Vice President MEAR of AbbVie, Mohammad was General Manager Atopic Dermatitis (AD) IMCO (2022 – 2024), based in Chicago (US). In this role he overlooked product development, positioning and growth opportunities for the current and future AD portfolio.
Mohammad holds a bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences from Cairo University, an MBA in strategic management from Arab Academy for Science as well as a diploma in marketing management from ESCP. He is married and a father of three boys with a main interest in cars and car racing.
