Olfat Berro is the Area Head for the Middle East region at Roche Pharmaceuticals. Her career at the Swiss multinational healthcare company began in 2003 where she has held advanced local and regional roles and gained experience in diverse fields within the company.


With over 20-year experience in the pharmaceutical industry, Olfat is passionate about saving lives and contributing to a healthier society. Olfat has a strong belief that everyone has a role to play, and through collaborations and multidisciplinary partnerships, we can bring integrated personalized solutions that help build sustainable healthcare ecosystems and provide equitable care to all.


At Roche, Olfat held different roles in sales, marketing and business management in various disease areas. In 2015, Olfat was appointed Country Manager in Lebanon and one year later, took an additional responsibility as Country Manager for Jordan & Palestine. In 2019, she became the Integrated Disease Strategy Lead (IDSL) at the Network Enabling Office and was then appointed the Area Head for the Middle East in November 2019. She is the first woman in the company to hold this position.


As a valued member of the Executive Committee of PhRMA Middle East & Africa, she had sponsored the Digital and Data Governance working group. Prior to that role, she served as the Chairperson of the Lebanese Pharma group in 2018, working closely with authorities and partners to shape the healthcare ecosystem and improve patients' access to innovation.


Olfat is committed to Diversity and Inclusion. She was a member of the first D&I council at Roche, Olfat’s ambition is to provide equal opportunities to all and inspire others through her personal journey as a woman in leadership. She is also a member of the Healthcare Committee of the International Women Board of Directors.

Olfat was featured on House of Rose Professional’s Break the ceiling touch the sky 2022 and 2024 list of The Middle East Most Inspirational Women in Leadership.
Olfat holds a Doctorate of Practice degree in Pharmacy from the Lebanese University and a Doctorate of Practice in Clinical Pharmacy from Université Claude Bernard in Lyon, France.
